Kathleen Blythe Thomas

kate head shot 054Kathleen Blythe Thomas  has more than 24 years of progressively responsible positions with mental health providers in Western Pennsylvania.

Katie, as a therapist, works with a variety of clientele including children, adolescents, families and adults that are experiencing difficulties with transitions in life, mood, anxiety, grief, personality, and trauma related problems.  Her understanding of a variety of mental illnesses and life transition problems  incorporates Cognitive and Dialectical Behavioral Therapies for solution focused therapy results.

Among her significant previous positions of increasing responsibility, Katie served at UPMC/Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic as a Casemanager, inpatient and outpatient Therapist, and Supervisor of two child/adolescent intensive outpatient programs.  She was also Director of Mt. Lebanon Outpatient and Psychosocial Rehabilitations Programs with Chartiers Mental Health Mental Retardation Inc. for ten years.

Katie holds Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Social Work (MSW) Degrees from the University of Pittsburgh.  She also belongs to the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).
