About
I enjoy working with children, ages 0-6 with a parent/co-parent, young children and adolescents and adults. I draw upon therapeutic and life experiences from 25 years of working with adults, children and parents to build secure attachments, coping with Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, Complex PTSD, Foster/Adoption, complex relationships, parent and co-parenting. We will work collaboratively to build on your strengths, bringing awareness to what your body and thoughts are telling you and recognizing what is working for you. I look to work with people to reduce or reframe the intensity of negative emotions which may impact how you feel.
I am enthusiastic to work with young children and their parent/co-parent to better communicate and understand each other as well as understand what children are trying to communicate through their behaviors. Together we can work towards figuring out what is being communicated and why to improve the relationship.
How do you do this with an infant? Building connections with your baby and or young child can be supported with co-regulation, attunement and building consistent predictable interaction supports building a secure attachment to last a lifetime. Parents can struggle with this: babies are all so different and sometimes parents need help building a foundation.
Together, my work as an LPC, educator, professional development trainer, artist and parent coupled, with your experience and strengths encompasses how we will develop a plan for treatment and proceed in our time together. The desire to explore and acknowledge your authentic self can create real change. We can work toward better communication and boundary making to empower you while supporting and working towards understanding the people you care about.
A team that’s been doing this work — and doing it well — for decades.
"I became a therapist because I know what it feels like to be lost and not know where to turn. I started WPA because everyone deserves a therapist who actually fits — not just whoever has an opening.
Our team of licensed clinicians has spent decades helping people across southwestern Pennsylvania find their footing again — through anxiety, trauma, grief, life transitions, and everything in between.
We've walked alongside thousands of people who came to us feeling stuck and left with something they didn't have before: a way forward.
That's what we're here for. And we're ready when you are."
